Standpoint

Consultancy from both sides of the contract

Stevenson Bell’s advice rests on two things sitting inside the same team: formally qualified surveying and project management expertise, and hands-on experience of actually delivering construction work — pricing it, running it on site, managing subcontractors, commissioning it under programme pressure. Each side keeps the other honest.

The result is advice that has already been tested against how the work gets built, so nothing gets past us on the drawings or on the ground — and a client team that is neither out-argued nor over-charged on the technical detail.

The difference

Advice that already knows how it will be built

Our team has spent years on the contractor side of the table as well as the client side. That experience shapes everything we produce.

We know how designs get installed

Access, sequence, tolerance and plant space are considered as design decisions, not site problems to be discovered later.

We know how programmes behave

We read contractor programmes for the logic and resource behind them, not just the bar lines.

We know how budgets move

We can see where pricing risk sits, where contingency will be tested and where change tends to originate.

We know where advice fails

Projects rarely fail on intent. They fail where guidance is detached from the practical business of building.
