Decarbonisation advice is only useful if it survives the building it is given about. We assess the full range of options — heat pumps, hybrid systems, heat networks, high-efficiency replacement of existing gas plant, fabric measures, controls and metering — against capital cost, available electrical capacity, plant space, disruption, operating cost and the client’s asset plan. The recommendation follows the evidence, not a preferred technology.
